The Rental Car Center at Phoenix Sky Harbor offers a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the Valley of the Sun.

The Rental Car Center [RCC] layout and environment provide travelers their initial Arizona experience. The RCC is designed for quick rental car transactions and easy handling of the vehicle fleets, and although the 2.2 million square foot, 5,600-vehicle garage sits on a 140-acre parcel shared with nine rental agencies’ service sites, the building’s site orientation is such that customer movement areas are completely separate from fleet service activities and bus operations.

This modern facility provides world-class customer service, and an efficient business environment for the rental car companies, and a memorable experience for Arizona visitors.

A goal of the Rental Car Center design was to clearly reflect its location in Arizona. Elements of the Grand Canyon, the southwest sunshine, and the desert were all incorporated into the design. The DFDG team worked together with the Phoenix Arts Commission, to achieve the art vision for the facility. The artists were clear that they did not want art objects, they wanted art that changed the character of the customer experience, captured the beauty of this unique place, and had a presence in keeping with the scale of the facility.
