A Bold Vision for the Future of Public Safety

The City of Mesa’s Police Department Headquarters, a mid-century modern landmark built in 1974, is undergoing a transformative remodel to blend its architectural heritage with cutting-edge modernization. DFDG teamed with police facility design experts FGM Architects to fully remodel this 5-level facility, integrating advanced technology, modern policing practices, and a focus on health, wellness, and security.

The design emphasizes light-filled, open spaces that foster dynamic movement and efficient workflows. A standout feature is the striking new front entrance, featuring a grand canopy, bold signage, and a welcoming plaza that seamlessly connects the building to the community. This redesigned façade aims to create a vibrant hub of connection and pride for visitors and staff alike.

With nearly five decades of history and multiple remodels, this latest transformation brings continuity to the building’s legacy while setting a new standard for public safety facilities.
