Taking cues from the nearby City Hall and New Square development, the parking garage’s progressive vibe was created by utilizing an interesting array of copper and silver colored perforated metal panels. With creative lighting, the primary stairs serve as colorful beacons during the busy evening hours.
The Oregon Street streetscape is an important pedestrian connector between the north and south areas of downtown Chandler. Pedestrian scale public art, landscape, and hardscape design elements create a pleasant experience for the varying foot traffic. To offset the scale of this large garage, retail and restaurant spaces were designed into the garage facing onto Oregon Street.
The City of Chandler procured this project utilizing the Design-Build methodology. This allowed the team to work collaboratively through concepts and challenges early, resulting in a complete project one month ahead of schedule.

The Oregon Street Parking Garage is a 933-space parking structure in the heart of downtown Chandler. Completed in 2019, it was developed to provide much-needed parking capacity for visitors to City Hall, downtown restaurants, retail, and other venues — and to help support the continued vitality of Chandler’s growing urban core.
he garage was designed with the surrounding urban context in mind, taking visual cues from the nearby City Hall and New Square development. Its facade uses an array of copper and silver perforated metal panels and creative lighting that transforms the stairwells into colorful beacons during evening hours. The design also addresses the Oregon Street streetscape as an important pedestrian connector between the north and south sides of downtown.
The project was delivered using the Design-Build method, which allowed the project team to work collaboratively through concepts and challenges early in the process. That early collaboration contributed directly to the project completing one month ahead of schedule.
City leadership saw the garage as part of a broader effort to strengthen Chandler’s downtown core alongside the New Square development and City Hall. The garage was intended not just as a parking solution, but as a piece of infrastructure that contributes to the energy and walkability of a growing urban district.
DFDG Architecture served as architect for the project, working closely with the City of Chandler and the Design-Build project team. The design process prioritized civic quality and integration with the surrounding downtown streetscape, ensuring the garage contributes positively to the pedestrian experience along Oregon Street.
