When Varitec Solutions outgrew what their old space could offer, DFDG worked with the Varitec Solutions team to design something better. A former medical office building became the foundation for a headquarters that reflects who Varitec is today and where they are headed. The 36,500-square-foot renovation and expansion reimagined the entire facility as a modern workplace and training hub built around the way their teams actually work.
Inside, the transformation is felt immediately. Ergonomic workstations, hoteling spaces for field technicians and visitors, and phone booth rooms for focused work sit alongside open collaborative areas that bring people together. The signature executive boardroom anchors the space with intention, using switchglass technology to shift between open transparency and complete privacy without sacrificing the clean, modern aesthetic Varitec wanted throughout.
Training environments with raised access flooring, flexible meeting spaces, and breakroom-adjacent collaboration areas round out a workplace designed to support Varitec’s day-to-day energy and long-term growth. A neutral material palette layered with texture and pattern was intentionally designed to evolve alongside the company’s identity during its transition under Daikin, allowing both Varitec’s recognizable lime green and Daikin’s vibrant cyan branding to integrate naturally throughout the space over time.
The Varitec Solutions Headquarters Relocation is a 56,500-square-foot renovation and expansion of a former medical office building in Phoenix, completed in 2026. DFDG transformed the existing space into a modern workplace and training hub designed around how Varitec’s teams actually work — replacing an outdated office environment with a headquarters that reflects the company’s identity and supports its long-term growth.
The interior transformation is immediately apparent upon entry. Ergonomic workstations, hoteling spaces for field technicians and visitors, and phone booth rooms for focused individual work sit alongside open collaborative areas. The signature executive boardroom uses switchglass technology to shift between full transparency and complete privacy on demand. Training environments with raised access flooring, flexible meeting spaces, and breakroom-adjacent collaboration zones round out the workplace.
Switchglass (also called electrochromic or smart glass) is a glazing technology that can shift from transparent to opaque with the flip of a switch. In the Varitec boardroom, it allows the space to function as an open, visible anchor of the office , reinforcing a culture of transparency, while providing complete visual privacy for confidential meetings. The technology delivers maximum flexibility without sacrificing the clean, modern aesthetic.
DFDG Architecture served as architect for the project, working closely with Varitec’s leadership to understand their operational needs and brand vision before a single design decision was made. The result is a facility that functions as both a high-performance workplace and a physical expression of the company’s direction.
