The previously desolate western courtyard was revitalized with shade structures, seating areas, and landscaping, now connected to the new community room through enlarged glazed openings, creating a pre-function and collaborative learning space.
The renovated dance studio features high ceilings and increased visibility on campus. Alongside the main dance studio, an adjacent classroom serves as a smaller practice space, equipped with a specialized dance floor, mirrors, and ballet bars.
For the music program, band and choir rooms are appropriately scaled and acoustically detailed for their respective uses. A larger classroom equipped with keyboards can function as a general-purpose classroom or for piano instruction. The building also houses six individual music practice rooms and ten additional practice rooms of various sizes for use by individuals or groups, as well as an ensemble classroom for group music practice.
The ensemble room features a visual connection to a new music recording studio capable of recording music and other live events in the ensemble room, the band room, and the choir room. Three general-purpose classrooms, nine faculty offices, and space for several adjunct faculty members complete the transformative project.
Designed in collaboration with Opsis Architecture.
