Rio Salado College desired a means to provide flexible educational opportunities for the community while helping Queen Creekâs town center area become a viable economic core. Developed in partnership with the Town of Queen Creek, the instructional and testing support facility is located adjacent to the Queen Creek Library and includes classrooms, testing, student services, administrative and support spaces, and a community room.
The orientation of the building focuses on creating a connection between the library and community room, in addition to providing the neighborhood a positive identity. The interior and exterior materials are an extension of the library, resulting in a unified development reflecting the importance of the town partnership and community focus.
The shared function space is available to schedule a variety of classes and computer labs in flexible spaces that can be easily rearranged to accommodate multiple learning styles and class sizes.
