The Rental Car Center at Phoenix Sky Harbor welcomes travelers with a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the Valley of the Sun.

Designed to provide travelers with their initial Arizona experience, the Rental Car Center (RCC) is optimized for quick rental car transactions and efficient handling of vehicle fleets. Despite its vast size—2.2 million square feet with a 5,600-vehicle garage on a 140-acre parcel shared with nine rental agencies’ service sites—the layout ensures that customer movement areas are completely separate from fleet service activities and bus operations.

This modern facility offers world-class customer service, an efficient business environment for rental car companies, and a memorable experience for Arizona visitors. The design of the RCC reflects its Arizona location, incorporating elements of the Grand Canyon, southwest sunshine, and desert into its architecture.

The DFDG team collaborated with the Phoenix Arts Commission to achieve an artistic vision for the facility. The artists aimed to create art that changed the character of the customer experience, captured the beauty of this unique place, and matched the scale of the facility, rather than simply adding art objects.
