Iconic, Welcoming, Modern, and Vibrant are a few of the guiding principles established for modernizing the City of Tempe’s Council Chambers.

As one of the most recognizable buildings in Arizona, Tempe’s City Hall possesses some of the best and unusual aspects of mid-century modern design. DFDG Architecture’s goal was to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic while bringing in new state-of-the-art technology. In this first phase of renovation, the design team remodeled the existing council chambers to bring back historic elements by making the space functional, welcoming, and ADA-compliant.
